Alligator leather is one of the most refined exotic leathers, prized for its soft, regular, and elegant scale pattern. To preserve its suppleness and natural shine, we recommend using a light lotion specifically designed for exotic leathers.
Apply a small amount of lotion with a soft cloth, following the direction of the scales. Allow it to penetrate for a few minutes, then gently buff with a clean cloth. Because alligator leather is naturally supple, light and regular care is sufficient.
We recommend using an exotic leather care lotion such as Saphir Exotic Leather Lotion or Collonil Exotic Lotion, which nourish the leather without weighing it down.
Never use the following on an alligator leather belt:
- Classic shoe polish (may saturate the scales)
- Leather greases or oils (neatsfoot oil, mink oil, etc.)
- Waterproofing sprays
- Thick creams not intended for delicate leathers
- Hard or abrasive brushes
